The Office
History
VD Arquitetura was established in 1990 and is led by founding partner and technical director Vera Domschke, who graduated from FAUUSP in 1981, and partner architect Carol Sacconi, who graduated from Escola da Cidade in 2012.
The projects developed by the office encompass various scales, programs, and types of clients.
Throughout its 35 years, completed in 2025, VD Arquitetura has predominantly focused on developing public and institutional works for collective use. Early in her career, Vera worked with architect Vilanova Artigas, which was very influential in characterizing her work and production.
With the arrival of new partner Carolina Sacconi in 2018, there was an increase in the development of residential projects with construction management, marking a new phase for the office.

Vera Domschke
FOUNDING PARTNER AND DIRECTOR
Graduated from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of São Paulo in 1981. She holds a PhD (2008) in Applied Sciences and a Master's degree (1998) in Environmental and Urban Structures from the same institution. She has been a university professor of architectural design since 1990 and a research professor since 2014. She has over 30 years of experience in public project management at different levels of government and in the development of urban and territorial development projects. Extensive experience in managing collective private initiative projects. She was a collaborator at VILANOVA ARTIGAS S/C LTDA. between 1981 and 1987. In 1990, she founded VD Arquitetura, which she continues to lead to this day.
Carolina Sacconi
PARTNER
Bachelor's degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at Escola da Cidade (2012), Master's degree in Habitat from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at USP (2019). Partner at VD Arquitetura since 2018 and office coordinator. She brought a more consistent development of residential projects, creating within VD Arquitetura a new scope of work: cost estimation and construction management, a differential that few architecture firms provide. Carolina is also a member of Grupo Fresta, a working group that focuses on projects involving community and environment, many of which are developed within VD Arquitetura's structure, in partnership.
